Granola and Greek yogurt are easily one of my favorite breakfast combinations. It’s usually a quick and easy option, often travels well and is packed with the day starting nutrients and protein that our brain and body need. The first things we need are protein, carbs, and fats. This meal delivers all of these things in one!
I prefer to eat Fagé Greek Yogurt, I back these brands because of the awesome probiotics it contains the density, protein content, and sugar content. The sugar content of Fagé is usually about 5 grams of sugar per cup compared to most other greek yogurts that are on the upward of 12 grams per cup. The protein content of Fagé sits at 20 grams per cup compared to its competition which maxes out around 16 grams per cup. Options are 0%, 2%, and 5% fat, making it easy to accommodate any dietary preferences.
If you want some good flavor and awesome antioxidants, throw in some berries! Blueberries and blackberries go so well, or even add some strawberries!
When it comes to the granola, its gotta be good. I can’t stand bad granola on good yogurt. I need it to be hearty and full of goodies like nuts and dried berries. I need some crunch yet some softness because my mouth shouldn’t feel like I brushed my gums with sandpaper after eating it. After trying lots of brands over the years, I fell in LOVE with the Fruit and Nut flavor of Bare Natural Granola…but apparently so did a lot of people. Lately, that’s the only flavor sold out at my King Soopers! So, this week I decided to make my own during meal prep. HO-LEE COW! It was bombed Y’all.
Heres how I made it!
Get creative with the way you make your granola! Come up with your own flavor and spice combinations. Try different sorts of dried fruits and nuts. Maybe try coconut shavings or dried mangos! The sky is the limit, just like your dreams! Go get up on this granola!
