31 Oct Spice up this Fall with Seasonal Protein Shakes
Personally, I live for the summer months! It’s hard to beat warm weather, barbecues, and extra daylight. Even though I dread the cold when it gets cold, the time in between summer and winter might actually be becoming my new favorite. I love fall! I absolutely love bringing out the cinnamon spice scented candles, chunky sweaters, and scarves. My favorite is the crispness of the air. In a weird way, I even love the fact that I catch myself driving to work with the heat on and drive home with the a/c blowing. Let’s not forget the fact that you basically have to dress for two seasons in one day.
The seasonal foods are definitely another draw for me. I love the warmth of a great pumpkin spice chai and making pot roast in the crock pot. I like that you can walk through the grocery store at this time and see a definite change in tastes, smells, and even the feel. Its like, the shelves change seasons about the same time that we change from our summer to winter wardrobes. Cranberries, assorted nuts in big bins, and pumpkin spice everything! Fall indefinitely here.
With all of these awesome ingredients hitting our grocery stores, my gears get turning on new ways to reach your macros yet also please your taste buds. I know I get bored of drinking the same boring water-and-protein-shaken-in-a-Blender-Bottle-shake day in and day out. Fall is the perfect time to break out some of my favorite festive protein shake recipes! When I am home and have some extra time, I’ll make myself one of these. They’re also a great breakfast option!
For those needing a more nutrient dense shake, try adding additional pumpkin, oats or sweet potato or doubling the recipe.
